Ivan A. Obolensky-Nogotkov Monument

The monument to Ivan Andreevich Obolensky-Nogotkov stands on the square named after him in Yoshkar-Ola. A six-meter-high sculpture depicts the warlord riding a horse with a royal decree in his hand. The monument was unveiled in 2007 and weighs six tons. The artistic reconstruction of his appearance is based on historical data since there are no surviving portraits of the warlord. Nearby is the National Art Gallery.
