Museum of Folk Applied Arts

The Museum of Folk Applied Arts is located in Yoshkar-Ola at Chechensky Street, 23. It is a single-story wooden house from the beginning of the 20th century with a gable roof decorated with classical lacy carving. Opened in 1999, it is dedicated to the traditions of crafts and decorative-applied arts of the Mari people. One can see traditional embroidery, carved wooden products and woven items made by local masters here. The building is an historical monument of the Republic of Mari El.
