Giaćynta Church
Vyborg, Vodnoy Zastavy Street, 4
Giainton Cathedral in Vyborg stands on Waterworks Avenue. The building dates to late 16th - early 17th century with a rectangular granite-and-brick form. During Winter War it remained almost undamaged but during Intermezzo Peace Russian troops destroyed its church interior. In the 18th century the structure was expanded; nobles' gatherings took place there until 1799. The parish was founded that year primarily for Polish and Lithuanian Catholics serving in the Russian army.
