Pokrovskiy cathedral Cathedral
Krasnoyarsk, Surikova St, 26
The Pokrovsky Cathedral in Krasnoyarsk is situated at Surikov Street, 26. It is the city's oldest stone structure, founded in 1785 and constructed in the style of Siberian Baroque. The church underwent three wooden reconstructions prior to its final stone form. It has been closed multiple times, serving as a workshop and exhibition space, yet it once more serves as an active Orthodox cathedral. Within the cathedral are unique frescoes dating from the late XVIII to early XIX centuries, making it the center of the Krasnoyarsk Metropolitan See of the Russian Orthodox Church.
