Andrey Dubensky Monument
Krasnoyarsk, Pokrovskaya Gora
The monument to Andrey Dubensky is situated on Pokrovskaya Hill in Krasnoyarsk. It honors the city's founder who established Krasnoyarsk fortress in 1628. From the observation deck, there is a view over the historical part of Krasnoyarsk where the Kacha River flows into the Yenisei. The sculpture was created by Vladimir Girish, with architectural design by Mikhail Merkulov. Initially, a plaster image of Dubensky made by Boris Musat in 1982 is now kept in the local museum.
