Krasnoyarsk Regional Ethnographic Museum

Krasnoyarsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, founded in 1889, houses over 700,000 exhibits, being the largest beyond the Urals. It features unique finds such as a complete mammoth skeleton and the sole stegosaurus skeleton in Russia. The collection includes epistolary heritage of Decembrists, personal belongings of notable figures like V.I. Surikov, V.P. Astafyev and D.A. Khvorostovsky, along with historical figures' autographs—Grigory Rasputin and Napoleon. The museum was awarded the title of best regional museum in Russia in 2002 and won an international competition "Changing Museum in a Changing World" in 2008. Its total exhibition area exceeds 4,000 square meters.
