The Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre named after D.A. Khvorostovsky is located at Perensona Street, 2 in Krasnoyarsk. Founded on the basis of amateur theatrical groups of the late 19th century, it has become a popular cultural center in the region thanks to famous opera singer Dmitry Khvorostovsky, who performed here as a soloist. The theater is known for its performances of classical operas and ballets by composers such as Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Donizetti, Rimsky-Korsakov. Its calling card is the opera "Knyaz Igor" by Borodin. The architecture of the building, built from 1966 to 1978 under the guidance of architect I.A. Mikhalev, harmoniously combines the traditions of classicism and modernity.
