Winter Theatre

Sochi, Teatralnaya St, 2

Winter Theatre in Sochi is situated on Theatrical Street; its architecture belongs to Soviet neoclassicism. The building features two grand facades: towards Kurortny Prospekt and towards the sea. Opened in 1938, it primarily serves as a festival, projecting, and touring stage. Allegorical figures atop the pediment were created by Vera Mukhina's sculptural team. Its first performance was an opera showing "The Imperial Bride" by N. Rimsky-Korsakov.
