Matsesta Sculpture

The sculpture "Matsesta" is situated on Kurortny Prospect in Sochi. It depicts a woman emerging from a mountain rock and symbolizes a local legend girl and healing spring. Nearby there is a stone plaque with inscription "Matsesta". The composition has been included in the register of cultural heritage after undergoing an expert review. Due to prolonged exposure to precipitation, restoration is required. In Soviet times, the condition of the sculpture was monitored by specialists from the Institute of Sanatoriums and Physiotherapy.
