Nikolay Ostrovsky Monument

The monument to Nikolay Ostrovsky is situated on Kurortny Prospect in Sochi. The sculpture depicts the writer holding a book in his right hand and a saber in his left. The area around the monument is designed as a wedge symbolizing a bayonet and a plow. Later, the area was improved with a green park created. The stylobate's surface was replaced with pavement tiles. The opening of the monument took place to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of Lenin's Young Communist League.
