Red Street

Red Street in Krasnodar has historical significance due to mandatory facade color coordination introduced in 1962 and window display design. Architect A. Tityov and sculptor I. Shmagun worked here. In accordance with city council directives from the same year, measures for improvement were taken. Buildings over three stories had to be equipped with vertical greenery featuring flower boxes on balconies. The street's beginning features a monument to Catherine II and the Alexander Nevsky Military Cathedral, while further along lies the Theatre Square where festive events take place.
