Holy-Ekaterinin Cathedral

The Holy-Ekaterin Cathedral is situated in Krasnodar on Kommunarov Street, 52. It was laid on April 23, 1900, on Ekaterininskaya Square and took 14 years to build according to architect Malgerb's design. The cathedral's main altar was consecrated on March 24, 1914. It is one of Russia's largest churches with seven altars dedicated to members of the imperial family. Construction began in memory of Emperor Alexander III's rescue. The cathedral serves as the spiritual center of Kuban and celebrates its centennial in 2014.
