G. K. Zhukov Square

G.K. Zhukov Square is situated in Krasnodar between Krasnaya Street, Gimnasticheskaya Street, Krasnoarmeyskaya Street and Lenina Street. A bust of Marshal Zhukov by sculptor Apollonov is installed here along with memorial arch "Proud of Kuban". Previously this place was occupied by Pervomaysky Square and Cathedral Square of Yekaterinodara. In 1996 the square was renamed after Marshal Zhukov. In 2004 reconstruction began resulting in construction of Alexander Nevsky temple-chapel replacing previous chapel.
