Cossack Memorial

The monument "Kuban Cossacks" was installed in Krasnodar near the building of the regional administration on Krasnaya Street. It is a bronze equestrian statue of a cossack on a high pedestal created by Rostov sculptor Alexander Apollonov and architect Victor Syrmolotov. The monument symbolizes the cossacks who founded the Kuban lands. The sculpture was delivered by helicopter in April 2005 after completion in Rostov-on-Don. As a historical prototype, it used the image of military judge Anton Golovatov. The solemn opening took place with the participation of the parade of the Kuban Cossack army.
