Catherine II Monument

In Krasnodar, in Ekaterinsky Garden, stands a monument to Catherine II created by sculptor Alexander Apollonov. The height of the empress figure is 4 meters; she holds a scepter and orb. On the pedestal there is a copy of the Charter. The memorial, originally opened in 1907 according to Mikeshin's project, was destroyed in 1920 and restored 86 years later. It is made from bronze, iron, aluminum and gold leaf. Also depicted on the monument are Prince Potyomkin-Tavrichesky and three first koshovy atamans: Golovaty, Beliy and Chepega.
