Obelisk dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Kuban Cossack Army was installed in Krasnodar on Krasnaya Street, 124. The monument was first opened in Ekaterinodar in 1897 according to architect Vasily Filippov's project. It is made from local Zakubansky stone, crowned with a golden ball and an emblem. The eastern side of the obelisk features Pyotr I's monogram and mention of participation of Khoper Cossacks in capturing Azov; the western side includes Catherine II's initials and dedication to the Black Sea Cossacks.
