Gorky Park City Garden

Krasnodar City Garden, previously known as Yekaterinodar Military Garden, arose on the site of an oak forest. Here grow ancient pedunculate oaks, some of which were a nature monument since 1977. The garden was a nursery for the Black Sea Cossack Army. Its first creators were experienced gardeners under the guidance of Yakov Bikelmeier. Performances by famous artists such as Feodor Chaliapin, Ekaterina Gelzer and Irma Jaunzem took place here. The garden's reconstruction ended in 1981 after work began in the 1970s.
