Mikhail Yurevich Lermontov Monument

The monument to Mikhail Yurevich Lermontov stands on Lermontov Square in Gelendzhik near the start of Lermontov Boulevard and the shore of Gelendzhik Bay. On the pedestal there is an inscription in the form of the poet's facsimile signature. The theory about Lermontov's sea visit to the city strengthens the local connection with his name. The original version of the monument was created in 1956 by St. Pyotrsburg sculptor Leonid Mikhaylovich Torich using concrete on a metal frame.
