Holy Transfiguration Cathedral

The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Gelendzhik is a parish church of Gelendzhik Deaconry of Novorossiysk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. The building, constructed in 1914-1915, originally served as St. Elijah the Prophet's chapel on the city cemetery founded in 1904. The church is recognized as an architectural monument of the early 20th century and included in the list of cultural heritage objects of Russia. The main altar is dedicated to the event of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
