Gelendzhik Lighthouse on Thick Cape

The Gelendzhik lighthouse is situated on Toll's Cape and serves as an identification mark for ships entering the Gelendzhik bay. Its modern red-and-white tower was built in 1985 and can be seen up to 21 nautical miles away. The history of the complex began in the late 19th century; initially, the lighthouse was a pole with a kerosene lamp.
