Russian Gates

"Russian Gates" are situated in the 30th Anniversary of Victory Park in Anapa. Named to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the city's liberation from Turks in 1854, Russian troops took the fortress six times over forty years, finally freeing the city in 1828. Inside the gates there is a marble plaque with the name and a memorial slab made of red marble dedicated to fallen soldiers. In 1913 above the gates they placed a metal Georgievsky Cross and also reburied remains of Russian soldiers.
