Three Candles Memorial

Memorial "Three Candles" in Anapa is situated on Omelkova Street, microdistrict 3A. It consists of three candles of different heights placed on a round pedestal. The pedestal is decorated with bas-reliefs depicting various branches of the military. The memorial honors Anapchans who fell during World War II, Afghanistan and Chechnya. Funds for its creation were raised through a charity marathon in April 2003. Architects Sergey Romakhin and Alexander Rikhter designed the project; schoolgirls Polina Goryaeva and Anna Krasovskaya developed the idea and sketches. The opening took place to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Victory.
