Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral

The Spaso-Preobrazheniya Cathedral in Khabarovsk is situated on Glory Square near the Amur River. It stands as the third tallest church in Russia, with its domes rising 95 meters high. Within the cathedral are two chapels: the upper chapel dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Lord and the lower chapel dedicated to Saint Mark the Apostle. Its interiors feature frescoes created by Moscow artists. Constructed between 2001 and 2004 under the auspices of Patriarch Alexius II of Moscow, this cathedral can host up to three thousand worshipers at once.
