N.N. Muraviev-Amursky Monument

The monument to General Governor N.N. Muravyov-Amursky is situated in Khabarovsk near the Khabarovskiy cliff on Shevchenko Street. It is the largest pre-revolutionary Russia sculpture standing 16 meters tall, restored in 1992 after local residents collected 2 million rubles. The original statue was made in 1891 according to A.M. Opekushin's design and later replaced with a model from the Russian Museum. The monument features bronze plates bearing names of participants in the annexation of Priamurie and is depicted on a banknote worth 5000 rubles since 2006. The opening ceremony took place with future Emperor Nikolay II's participation.
