Petrozavodsk Railway Station

The central part of the Petrozavodsk railway station, built of stone according to the design of architect Viktor Tsipulin, is adorned with a four-column portico with a round belvedere and an octagonal turret crowned with a 17-meter spire. The first wooden station building appeared in 1916 in the area of the modern Pervomaysky Prospekt, and the current station opened on March 5, 1955, with the departure of a train to Leningrad and the arrival of a train from Murmansk. In 2020, a large-scale renovation was completed, during which the historical appearance of the building was restored, the spire was replaced, and a new pedestrian bridge over the tracks was built. The facility operates 24/7 and has been part of the North-Western Regional Directorate of Railway Stations since April 2007.
