Church of the Presentation of the Lord in Solomennoe

The Stone Church of the Presentation of the Lord in Solomennoe was built in 1781 on the territory of the former Peter and Paul Hermitage, whose male monastery was abolished in 1764. The church was erected with funds from merchant Ilya Yakovlevich Kononov, who also financed the construction of other churches in the Solomennoe parish. After a severe fire in 1906, which destroyed everything except the stone walls, the building was restored in 1907–1913 according to the design of diocesan architect I. Markushev. In 1996, the church was transferred to the Petrozavodsk diocese, and after restoration work in 2003, it was consecrated by Archbishop Manuel.
