Kareliya Puppet Theatre

The Puppet Theatre of the Republic of Karelia is situated at Karl Marx Avenue, 19 in Pyotrozavodsk. Its facade features whimsical figures such as Sailor, Jester, Fairy and Traveler. The theatre's repertoire comprises visual shows with objects, screen performances using rod puppets and marionette presentations. The first professional play staged by the theatre was titled "Ris". In 1947 it started exploring Karelian folklore.
