Statue "Ongo" (Birth of Pyotrozavodsk)

The sculpture "Onego" is located on the southern part of Onega Embankment in Pyotrozavodsk. It was created by sculptors Alexander and Vladislav Manachinsky with architects Valery Kim and Nikolay Mikhailov to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the city. It allegorically depicts the birth of Pyotrozavodsk as a defensive outpost of Russia. The central figure is a young warrior in a boat holding a shield with the emblem of Pyotrozavodsk and a spear.
