Wish Tree Sculpture

The sculpture "Tree of Wishes" is situated on Onega Embankment in Pyotrozavodsk. Installed in 1996, it was created by Swedish artist Kent Andersson to scale. Inside its trunk there is a special opening where you can whisper your wish. The tree is covered with fiberglass and represents a living spruce. The sculpture can be viewed from both sides: from the embankment and the road alongside the lake. It is a gift from the sister city Umea in Sweden, whose image is reflected through the symbolism of national epic.
