Pyotr I Monument

The monument to Pyotr I is installed in Pyotrozavodsk on Onezhnaya Embankment, near the waterfront park next to the Water Vokzale. It features a bronze sculpture of the emperor created in Adolf Morand's workshop in Saint Pyotrsburg. The pedestal is made from gray granite stone of Sortavala origin designed by Ippolit Antonovich Monigetti. The idea to install the monument arose as early as 1871, while its final location was determined in 1978.
