Pyotr I Monument

The monument to Pyotr I is located on Onega Boulevard in Pyotrozavodsk. The monument was opened in 1873 to commemorate the centenary of the Onenga factory and depicts the emperor in parade uniform with a sword. The pedestal is made of Seredolsk granite by architect I.A. Monigetti. Pyotr points his right hand at the place where the foundry for casting cannons was laid in the mouth of Lososinka River in 1703. The monument was created by the Moранда plant in St. Pyotrsburg based on the model of sculptor I.N. Shreder.
