Derzhavin Monument

In Pyotrozavodsk, in the Governor's Garden, stands a bronze monument to Gavriil Romanovich Derzhavin, the first Olonets governor and famous poet. The creators of the memorial are sculptor Valter Soyni and architect Emil Kuldavletov. It was opened in 2003 and regularly becomes the site for Derzhavin readings and other educational events.
