Republic of Karelia Music Theatre

The Republic of Karelia Music Theatre is located on Kirov Square in Petrozavodsk. It is the largest stage in the republic known for staging the first Karelian ballet "Sampo". The theater can accommodate up to 607 spectators and offers classical opera and ballet, operetta, musicals and musical comedies. The architecture of the building is inspired by Moscow's Bolshoi Theater and executed in a classic style with white columns. The facade is decorated with sculptural compositions by famous sculptor S. Konenkov. After the reconstruction at the end of the 2000s, the theater updated its modern appearance.
