Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

The Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky is located in Petrozavodsk at Aleksandra Nevskogo Avenue, 32. The cathedral was built from 1826 to 1832 with funds from workers of the Alexandrovsky factory, employees and Emperor Alexander I. The architectural project was developed by Alexander Ivanovich Postnikov with the participation of Pietro Carlo Maddenyi. This is the main Orthodox church of Karelia and the seat of the Petrozavodsk and Karelian diocese.
