Golden Alley

Golden Alley in Kaluga runs along the steep slope of Berezuysky Ravine. It emerged in the early 19th century under Governor Pyotr Kavrin and was previously called Big and Silver. Here there is a bust of Alexander Pushkin by sculptor Klimenko (1949), a memorial obelisk commemorating the city's foundation and a monument to victims of Stalin's repressions. At one end of the alley stands the House of Dukes' Assembly, at the other - a poet's bust.
