Teatralnaya Street

Teatralnaya Street in Kaluga, which was called Oblupskaya in the 17th–18th centuries due to the taverns and inns located there, became a pedestrian zone with stone paving in 2009. At the beginning of the street stands a bronze sculpture called "Money Bag," touching which, according to a superstition, brings good luck. Next to the Koutsov House, built in 1826, there is a sculpture "Girl with an Umbrella" featuring a musical clock. The street is also lined with historic buildings, including the House with the Shlyapin Merchants' Shops and the House with I. I. Borisov's Shops. Among the small sculptures, "Little Cosmonaut Artyom" stands out — a figure of a cyclist created in 2024 and located near the interactive monument to Tsiolkovsky, where one can pedal.
