Holy-Trinity Cathedraal Sobor

Holy-Troitse Cathedral — the main church of Kaluga, situated in its historical center on Old Trade Square. The cathedral was built at the end of the 18th century according to architect Ivan Yasnygin's project and consecrated by Patriarch Alexius II in 1999. The dome of the cathedral, constructed without supports, is the largest in Russia and surpasses the size of Kazan Cathedral's dome in Saint Pyotrsburg by 2.5 meters. Construction lasted from 1786 to 1808.
