Victory Square

Victory Square in Kaluga is a memorial complex where a monument to internationalist soldiers appeared in 1999, and in 2013 the "Cranes" monument was installed in memory of those who died in local conflicts. In November 2022, the complex was supplemented by the memorial "To Border Guards of All Generations." For the installation of the nine-ton Motherland figure, a forty-ton crane with a 45-meter boom was used for the first time, and a sculpture of a veteran appeared on the alley of Kirov Street in 2011. At dusk, the memorial objects are illuminated with special lighting, and the landscaped area with flower beds, lawns, and benches serves as a venue for commemorative events.
