Craft, Architecture and Life Museum

The Museum of Crafts, Architecture and Life is located in Kaluga in a building constructed in 1876 by merchant Dmitry Gostev, which was seriously rebuilt in 1891 by its new owner Dmitry Tsyplakov. The first floor of the house is made of stone, the second is wooden with an attic, and the museum can only be visited by prior appointment. Tour service is free, but groups are limited to 10 people, and up to 15 including guides. Since 1991, the School of Folk Masters of Kaluga Clay Toys has been operating at the museum, and temporary exhibitions on Christmas themes, the Great Patriotic War, embroidery, and traditional costume of the Kaluga region are regularly held.
