Monument to the 600th Anniversary of Kaluga

The Monument to Kaluga's 600th Anniversary is located on Gagarin Street near the bridge over the Oka River. Its main part is a tall titanium pylon 50 meters high, with a large bronze sphere situated at its base. On either side of the pylon there are steles depicting historical episodes from the city over the past six centuries. The reliefs were made at the Leningrad Plant "Monumentsculpture". The monument was opened in 1977 following celebrations marking Kaluga's 600th anniversary and restored for its 650th anniversary in August 2021.
