Hospitaller Saints Cosmas and Damian Church

The Church of Cosmas and Damian in Kaluga is situated at Suvorova Street, 177/16. The building is a republican architectural monument since 1960. The stone church was consecrated in 1794 under the name of Spassky. After being closed in 1937 it was initially used as a detention facility, later post-war years housed garages and warehouses. In 1992 the building returned to the Kaluga eparchy, and in August 1998 Archbishop Clement consecrated the central chapel, restoring regular worship services.
