Church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious "Za Lavkami"

The Church in honor of the Great Martyr George the Victorious "Za Lavkami" in Kaluga was severely damaged by a fire in 1754, after which a refectory was added and a bell tower was erected in 1755. In 1800, the provincial architect I. D. Yasnygin decorated the lower tier of the bell tower with a portico with paired columns, and also rebuilt the apses and constructed a side chapel in honor of the Korsun Icon of the Mother of God. The Kaluga Orthodox Missionary Society in honor of the Hieromartyr Kuksha of the Caves operates at the church, and full liturgical life was fully resumed there in February 2012. In 2013–2016, a large-scale restoration was carried out, during which the faculties, vaults, window openings, roof, and five domes were restored.
