I.G. Bilibin House (Shamil's House)

The House of I. G. Bilibin (Shamil's House) in Kaluga is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance. In 1859, the city authorities rented this building for the residence of the captive Imam Shamil with his family and servants, where he spent nine years. At the beginning of the 20th century, the building was renovated and an extension was added to the northern facade, while four-pilaster porticos were preserved on the eastern and western facades. In different years, the house was occupied by the Milyutinsky Bank and the three-grade city school named after the Malyutin brothers.
