Fighting Bison Sculpture

The sculpture "Fighting Bison" is situated on Mira Prospect in Kaliningrad. Two bronze bison figures stand on a high stone pedestal surrounded by a rectangular fountain basin. The composition was created by August Gaule based on sketches made after extensive observations of the animals. It was a gift from the Prussian Ministry of Culture to the city of Koenigsberg and unveiled in 1912. In 2007 it was recognized as an object of regional cultural heritage. Local residents refer to the bison as "Prokuror" and "Advokat".
