Alexander Marinesko Monument

On Veterans Embankment, in the area of Fish Village, there stands a bronze statue of Captain Third Rank Alexander Marinesko, Hero of the Soviet Union. The sculptor is Fedor Moroz. The decision to rename the embankment was made in 1990. The monument's base is made of reinforced concrete. The sculpture depicts the achievements of Marinesko who commanded submarine S-13 during World War II. The initiative for installation belongs to historian Victor Gemanov.
