Crestovozdvizhensky Cathedral (Church of the Cross)

The Cross-Raising Cathedral is situated on General Pavlov Street in Kaliningrad. It was formerly a Catholic church that became an Orthodox cathedral after being transferred to the Orthodox community in 1991. The building has the shape of a Greek cross and was constructed with funds from Alstads Church Community. The cathedral suffered little during World War II. It was founded in 1930 and consecrated in 1933. Until 2006 it served as the cathedral of the Kaliningrad Diocese.
