Kaliningrad Zoo

Kaliningrad Zoo is situated on Mira Avenue in the center of Kaliningrad. Founded in 1896 as Koenigsberg Zoological Garden, it is among Russia's oldest zoos. Several historical buildings from pre-war times survived the war. After reconstruction partially funded by federal budget, the zoo gained historic status. Exotic animals were brought here by fishermen fleet sailors.
