Kalingrad Regional Amber Museum

Kalingrad Regional Museum of Amber is situated on Marshal Vasilevsky Square. One can see reconstructed fragments of the Amber Room and unique collection of amber samples with ancient insects and plants here. The museum is housed in Don Fortress Tower, opened in 1979. More than 30 exhibitions are held annually, including international biennial "Alatyr" since 2004. The total exhibition area amounts to about 1000 sq.m on three floors.
