Ausfälle Gates

Ausfaller Gates are situated in Kaliningrad at the intersection of Gvardeysky Avenue and General-Feldmarschall-Rumyantsev Street. This 19th-century structure was originally intended solely for pedestrian traffic and features modest architectural design. Above the passage there is a battlemented platform with crenellated parapet, flanked by casemates equipped with embrasures for frontal and flanking fire. The passage is framed by an ogee arch adorned with toothed molding. Initially, the gates were positioned below ground level and designed by architect Ludwig von Aster.
