Leonid Gaidai Monument

In Irkutsk, on Proletarskaya Street, there is a monument to famous Soviet director Leonid Gaidai. The sculpture's height is 5.5 meters including the pedestal. Gaidai is depicted in his director's chair next to his faithful dog Barbos. In front of the monument there are figurines of characters from the director's films - Trusha, Balbes and Byvalyj. Funds for creating the monument were raised by ten sponsors. This is one of the city's popular attractions, frequently visited by tourists and locals.
