Alexander Vamprlov Monument

A monument to Alexander Vamplitov was installed in a skver near Irkutsk Academic Drama Theatre on Kanazawa Street, 1. The idea for its creation belongs to local poet Gennadiy Gayde. Citizens collected funds. The monument was opened on September 20, 2003 and became the central part of the All-Russian Festival of Modern Dramaturgy. It was here during his student and early literary years of Alexander Vamplitov, author of famous plays "The Elder Son", "Duck Shooting" and "Last Summer in Chulymsk".
